An AI pet portrait is a new picture of your own pet, made by an image model from your photo and a style you choose. At Shirt Happens the preview is free, you approve the exact image before you pay, and it prints on a product from $12.99.
How do AI pet portraits work?
- You upload a photo of your pet. One photo per pet works best if the pets are in separate photos.
- You pick a style, such as Astronaut, Royalty, Van Gogh or Santa Hat.
- An image model draws your pet in that style. A preview takes about 30 seconds, and we can email you when it is ready.
- You check the preview. If it is not right, redo it for a fresh take, say what to change, or keep more or less of the background.
- You pick the product. The approved image prints without the preview watermark.
Are AI pet portraits any good?
They are good at likeness when the photo is good: clear light, the whole face visible and no heavy filters. They can miss on unusual markings, very dark fur in dim photos, or large groups, where a retry can be needed to get every pet right. That is why you approve the preview before you buy, and why a mockup check is available: choose "Email me mockups to check first" in the cart and we hold the order for up to 24 hours.
How much does an AI pet portrait cost?
The preview is free: up to 10 a day and 30 in total until your first pet order, and each pet order resets the 30. If you run out, a preview pack gives 20 more for $0.99 or 50 for $1.99, and you get that price back as a code for your next pet order.

Does a person check my AI pet portrait?
No. You approve the preview yourself, and the order then goes straight to our print partner, unless you ask for mockups first.
Is an AI pet portrait the same as an artist's commission?
No. An artist's commission is made by a person and usually takes longer and costs more. An AI portrait gives you a preview in about 30 seconds and lets you try many styles before you buy. We label our pet art as AI-generated.
What happens to my pet photo?
We keep your photos and portraits so you can reorder. Delete them any time from the pet portrait page: we delete your photos right away. Previews you never order are deleted after 180 days.
